Please use this poster as a guide only, signs and symptoms of pressure ulcers may present differently on different skin tones. When caring for patients with dark skin tones obvious pressure-related redness on the skin can be more difficult to identify.

Education is critical to ensure all members of a clinical team act to prevent and treat pressure ulcers according to the best evidence available.
